Project Overview

Two-X worked directly with Tenaris on a daily basis to provide inspections, repairs, and installation of new equipment to commission their Hot Rolling Mill. Over a 6-month period, over 135,000-man hours were used to meet their start up schedule.

Two-X successfully completed the installation of the Mandrel Tool Shop along with all auxiliary piping necessary for commissioning. Throughout the course of the installation, many modifications and adjustments were required. Two-X discussed and directed changes in the field to increase efficiency, decrease schedule impact and lower overall cost.

To meet OSHA standards, Two-X reconfigured walkways and handrails to ensure safety and compliance. All items requiring modification were properly documented and turned over to

Tenaris to ensure workforce safety. Two-X completed all task in November 2017 to support a grand opening in December 2017.

Pipe Fabrication / Erection

Project Overview
Each piping system was prefabricated as outlined by the Isometric Drawings. The systems were field verified to ensure fitment and reduce modifications for interference. Two-X engineers worked directly with the material supplier to verify shipments matched the bill of material. Deliveries were sequenced to match the installation schedule to increase productivity and shorten the schedule duration.

Two-X also completed the Acid Tank piping in parallel with Pickle Line piping. The piping systems consisted of 175 meters of Compressed Air piping and 134 meters of Indirect water piping. All systems were commissioned and are currently in operation.

Project Overview

The Lime and Carbon Silo project consisted of 4 Silos standing over 75′ tall. The state of the art system feeds the Danieli supplied EAF. Two-X completed the project ahead of schedule and assisted the Owner in simplifying the piping system to increase efficiency and decrease costs..

Two-X completed all of the fabrication and erection of the structural steel as well as all associated grating, ladders, and walkways.

Two-X field verified and completed all piping systems. Once all of the piping system were installed, each was was tested for commissioning.

Project Overview

Two-X completed the entire mechanical and piping installation of this project. The Austenitizing and Tempering Furnace were completely fit and erected in the field. Due to limited prefabrication, Two-X erected both furnaces simultaneously. This increased production and reduced the overall duration of the schedule.

Nearly all of the onboard piping and ductwork including insulation had to be field verified and fit. Two-X worked two shifts around the clock to make sure that all of the ductwork and piping exceeded the customers standards.

All of the handling equipment including the Sizer and Straightener were set using the latest and most accurate robotic theodolite, Leica’s TORA 6000.

Two-X worked directly with Tenaris to implement engineering changes in the field to avoid delay. This resulted in expedited commissioning and start up.

Project Overview

The baghouse project consisted of 10 cells with 3900 bags and cages and all associated ductwork. Two-X completed the project two weeks ahead of schedule.

Two-X completed the fabrication and erection of the cooling tower structural steel as well as the complete erection of the melt shop transformer vault and electrical control room building. The building stands seven stores and was completed ahead of schedule.

Two-X completed all of the misc. steel fabrication and installation for the electric arc furnace, casting machines, rolling mill, cooling beds, water treatment plants, and out buildings. All necessary modifications to the crane rail and building columns were completed to assist in commissioning of the overhead crane.

All of the piping for the chemical dosing, cooling water, quench, and potable water systems were field verified, fabricated and installed by Two-X. In addition to fabrication and installation, all systems were hydro-tested for commissioning.
